It’s May and we are now full swing into Spring Fishing in Tampa Bay! Snook fishing has been heating up, the best bite has been on the incoming tide with high water casting baits under the Mangroves. Look for areas with clean water and healthy grass to find these fish. The Speckled Trout have also been biting well. Look for grass flats and fish the edges in 3’-4’ of depth. A live sardine free-lined on a 1/0 circle hook and 20lbs leader has been producing some slot fish. Mackerel and Bluefish have made their way into the bay and can be caught on most shoals, reefs, bridges when the tides are moving. That’s your mid April fishing report, get out and enjoy some fishing in Tampa Bay!
